Azerbaijan University hosted a round table dedicated to the life and activities of the prominent thinker, social and political figure, lawyer, journalist, and writer Ahmad Bay Aghaoghlu. The guest of the event, jointly organized by the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature and the Department of Science, was the head of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature of Lefke European University of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, docent Nazim Muradov.

Vice-rector of the University for scientific affairs Yusif Gasimov introduced the guest to the event participants and gave information about his scientific and pedagogical activities. Ulviyya Rahimova, head of the department of Azerbaijani language and literature, said that Ahmad Bay Aghaoghlu had great services in the history of the social and political thought of Azerbaijan. Professor of the department, Gorkhmaz Guliyev noted the importance of studying the legacy of Ahmad Bay Aghaoghlu in a broad way in the context of the renaissance.

Keynote Speaker of the round table, associate professor Nazim Muradov talked about the different periods of Ahmad Bay Aghaoghlu's life and activities, his educational life, his socio-political views, his unique reputation, his services in preventing Armenian sedition, the "Difai" organization that he created with the aim of responding to Armenians in their own way, journalistic activities, relations with Ataturk, relations with Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh and presented interesting facts about his life and activities in Turkiye.

The round table continued with discussions on the theme.

Note that the round table was held in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 5, 2022, "Regarding the Declaration of 2022 as the ‘Year of Shusha’ in the Republic of Azerbaijan and in order to ensure the implementation of the action plan of Azerbaijan University to be realized within the ‘Year of Shusha'.
