Admission of undergraduate students by Azerbaijan University in 23 specialties

Azerbaijan University announces admission of undergraduate students for the 2022/2023 academic year. We would like to inform the entrants that admission to the Azerbaijan University is carried out by the State Examination Center (SEC) and in accordance with the general rules. According to the results obtained in the entrance exam held in two stages, the entrants who have won the right to participate in the competition can also choose the specialties of the Azerbaijan University. Admission to all our specialties is possible on the basis of the State Order (at the expense of the state budget).

This year, admission is held in 23 specialties and applicants are offered 1 new specialty. For the first time, an admission will be held in the field of international relations. We remind that the specialties of International Relations and Regional Studies (by regions) have been removed from the II specialty group and included in the III specialty group.

To the attention of entrants and undergraduates:

  • In English-language specialties, the teaching period is 5 years with 1 (one) academic year for English language preparation of students. The competition in these specialties is held jointly in the Azerbaijani and Russian sections.
  • Those who are admitted to English-language specialties and have English language proficiency with international level IELTS (6.0 and above), TOEFL (75 and above), PTE (50 and above) or have successfully passed the Placement Test students start the first year directly.
  • Students admitted on a paid basis can also receive scholarships from the state budget starting from the second semester. At present, 353 undergraduate and 503 graduate students of the Azerbaijan University have been awarded scholarships at the expense of the state budget. 109 of the scholarship recipients study on the basis of the state order and 244 on a paid basis. The monthly amount of undergraduate scholarships is 90, 132 and 156 manats, depending on the student's academic performance and is re-evaluated at the end of each semester.
  • “Martyred Fakhraddin Gurbanli Scholarship” established by Azerbaijan University is awarded to the student who received the highest score in the first semester of the first academic year. The total amount of the pension is 500 manat.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering is based on a dual degree program with the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (XNURE) of the Republic of Ukraine. The duration of the program is 4 years. Students who successfully complete the program receive a diploma from both universities.
  • The University Internal Two Diploma Program (UDID) provides students with high scores with the opportunity to receive 2 diplomas in 2 different specialties in 4 years with additional education. The program is open to students who have completed the first year, earned credits in the specialty in which they were admitted, have no academic debt in this specialty and have an average success score of 85-100 points.
  • Students who are admitted on a paid basis with a score of 600 or higher do not pay tuition fees in accordance with the terms of the contract concluded with them (average success rate of 95 and above, grades A). The average success rate of these students was 85.0-94.9; If the prices are A and B, a 50% discount on tuition is applied.
  • Special discount is applied to students who are admitted on a paid basis with a score between 500-599 points. The application of the discount in the next academic year also depends on the student's performance.
  • Azerbaijan University is a member of Erasmus+, Mevlana international credit mobility programs, as well as cooperates with DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). The Erasmus+ program offers students the opportunity to study and do academic internships at leading universities in Turkey and Europe, and the DAAD program at German universities for one or two semesters. The Mevlana program facilitates academic exchange with Turkish universities.
  • In addition to the diploma, students are awarded ECDL (European Computer Driving License) and PTE (Pearson Test of English) certificates, which certify computer skills at the international level for 4 years.

Students with privileged status

  • Tuition fees for disabled while defending the territorial integrity, independence and constitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan; children of citizens who died for the freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan and citizens missing in the military operation and declared dead by the court shall be paid from the state budget in the amount of educational expenses approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on June 25, 2010 No. 120, and the rest from the budget of the Azerbaijan University.
  • Tuition fees for students under the age of 23 who have lost both parents and are deprived of parental care, or one parent has died and the other parent is a group I or II disabled person are paid in full from the state budget.
  • Tuition fees for persons with first and second degree disabilities, as well as children with disabilities under the age of 18 are paid in full from the state budget.
