The VIII Reporting Conference of the Student Youth Organization was held at the Azerbaijan University.
At the conference, the advisor of the rector of the Azerbaijan University, Dean of Business and Economics Faculty Ali Hasanov, and  Executive Director of the Union of Student Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan Faiq Mammadov praised the activities of the organization over the past period and wished success to the newly elected chairman.
It was noted in the speeches that, the history of student youth organizations started with the order “ Approval of Action Plan for Improvement of Work with Youth and Students in the Republic of Azerbaijan" which was signed in 2005 by the Chief Executive Officer of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ramiz Mehdiyev.
Following this order, student youth organizations were established in all higher educational institutions. The main goal of SYO is to represent and defend the interests of the students in the implementation of state youth policy and to ensure their active participation in the socio-political, cultural, social and economic life of the republic.
According to a secret ballot among the members of the AU SYO board , Rovshan Saatov, a 3rd year student of Finance and Economics at the Faculty of Business and Economics, was elected as the new chairman of the AU SYO board.
Rovshan Saatov expressed his gratitude for the confidence and called students to be active in SYO's work.
