Students will take the course “Digital Citizenship of the Turkic World”

Azerbaijan University has joined the "Turkish World Digital Citizenship" project. Yusif Gasimov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, represented Azerbaijan University at the signing ceremony of the cooperation protocol of the project, which involved 71 universities from the Turkic world. The project, coordinated by Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University and Gaziantep University of Turkey, envisages the teaching of "Turkish World Digital Citizenship" as an elective subject at partner universities at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Talking at the signing ceremony, Professor Alpaslan Ceylan, Rector of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, who hosted the event, recalled Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's expression "family meeting" and  said that the rectors of the universities of the Turkic world are valuable members of the large family and wanted to know their views on the implementation of the project.

The project coordinators, Professor Erdal Bay and Associate Professor Oktay Ozgul, informed about the teaching of the subject, noting that the subject "Digital Citizenship of the Turkic World" will be organized remotely and will be taught by a different university each semester. Students who choose the subject will benefit from the knowledge and experience of prominent scientists of the Turkic world, they will be offered to develop projects on the problems of the Turkic world. According to the rules, the students will have a "Turkish World Passport" and those who achieve high results will be sent to science camps.

A traditional symposium of university leaders and representatives participating in the project is planned to be held in October to discuss the project.
