Azerbaijan University will cooperate with Turkiye’s Kastamonu University

A delegation headed by Professor Ahmet Hamdi Topal, rector of Turkey's Kastamonu University, visited Azerbaijan University. At the meeting between the delegations of Azerbaijan and Kastamonu universities, the guest rector Ahmet Hamdi Topal expressed his satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan and Baku and gave information about the higher educational institution he heads. He said that Kastamonu University, founded in 2006, currently has 3 campuses and more than 23 thousand students. About 500 Azerbaijani students are studying at the university, which operates with 14 faculties, 3 institutes, 15 colleges, and 23 research centers. The rector noted that 2 Azerbaijani students of Kastamonu University voluntarily participated in the Patriotic War and reached the peak of martyrdom.

The guest delegation was informed about the activity of Azerbaijan University, its development path, educational levels, taught specialties, trained personnel and international relations, scientific activity, including the goals of the university.

It was stated that the day by day strengthening of Azerbaijan-Turkey relations is of great importance for the Turkic world and has a positive effect on the development of relations between Turkic-speaking peoples. It was emphasized that important work should be done in the direction of strengthening scientific relations.

Issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting. It was noted that internationalization, as well as the expansion of international relations, the implementation of dual diploma programs are among the strategic goals of both universities.

In the end, a memorandum of understanding on joint cooperation was signed.
