The Operation Group of “EURO-2020” set up due to the preparation of games which are going to be held at Baku Olympic Stadium, met with the students of Azerbaijan University. At the meeting with more than 120 students the information about  The European Championships 2020 and the “Baku Volunteer Program EURO-2020” was provided.

The ambassador of the “Baku Volunteer Program EURO-2020” Taleh Yuzbayov, the program’s manager Yusif Valiyev and “ATV Sport” program`s presenter Sanan Shafizade took part at the meeting. The guests not only shared their own experiences and memories of volunteering with event participants but also informed the participants of the meeting on the students experiences gained in sport and non-sport fields, an efficient organization of youth leisure time, and the importance of enhancing technical knowledge and skills regarding the major and large-scale events in the country.

At the meeting, it was noted that AFFA highly appreciates the role of volunteer students in organizing the UEFA Europa League final game, which was held for the first time in Baku in May 2019. In this regard, AFFA has created a volunteering program to attract 2000 volunteer students to host the Games in Baku within The European Championships 2020.

Concurrently with the presented information on the volunteering program, its past success and the history of the European Championships with interesting facts, the agenda of the events related to EURO-2020 was noted. It was also noted that the volunteering program is open not only to the students but also to the everyone wanting to be part of the continental-scale events. Within the program according to the organizational issues will be held workshops on educational and entertainment courses, special master-classes, etc.
