A conference on " Don`t be addicted, Be free" was held at Azerbaijan University

On the cooperation of Azerbaijan University, the Association Against Addictions, TIKA Baku Program Coordinator and the Center for Modern Psychology has held a conference called "Don`t be addicted, Be free” (Asılı olma, Azad ol). The three-part event, which included a cartoon exhibition about harmful habits, a meeting of field experts with the faculty of Azerbaijan  University, and a workshop for students, was organized to promote students' awareness and prevention of addictions to bad habits.

The participants were familiarized with the animation display devoted to harmful habits in the exhibition area of Azerbaijan University. The exhibition highlights more than 30 works devoted to various types of harmful habits and their consequences. Not only emphasized the disastrous effect of harmful habits, the spread of toxic usages among the youth,  precautionary actions for teenagers and young people, and the value of restricting them in society, and exchanged views on the situation in Turkey and Azerbaijan as well at the meeting of the specialists with the professor-teacher staff of Azerbaijan University.

The rector of Azerbaijan University Saadat Aliyeva, guests, media representatives, faculty and about 120 students attended the seminar. In the seminar, were given lectures on different topics:  "Smoking Addiction" by Prof. Toker Ergüder, "Drug Addiction" by  Professor of the Aegean University of Turkey Hakan Coskunol, "The psychology of addiction" by Aida Nabiyeva, Director of the Center for Contemporary Psychology. The reports covered topics as risk factors that lead to harmful habits, the causes of addiction, the consequences of harmful habits in the human body, the negative effects on society, and the ways to fight it.
