Presentation of the International Public Speaking Competition held at Azerbaijan University

The presentation of the national competition on Azerbaijan of the world’s largest public speaking contest “International Public Speaking Competition 2020”s was held at Azerbaijan University. The presentation provided information about the stages of the program and the rules of participation.

At the presentation, the participants informed that the program consists of five stages in which students will gain skills such as speaking, presenting, communicating and leadership by participating in the training. The first stage is a training course designed to develop public speaking skills. The training will be held on November 16-17, 2019. After a two-days of training course, participants will be divided into groups and be directed to the mentors. At this stage, mentors will give participants pieces of advice on public speaking and presentation skills. In the third stage, all participants will give speeches on a particular topic presented to them and be evaluated by the jury. 15 participants rated with the highest score will qualify for the finals. In the final stage of the competition, which will be held on December 1, 2019, only one person will receive the status of the best speaker in Azerbaijan.

The final stage of the project will be held from May 11 to 15, 2020 in London. The winner will compete with the winners of the other 53 countries to become the best speaker in the world.

The organizer of the competition for Azerbaijan APSC (Azerbaijan Public Speaking Competition), as being the partner of Great Britain ESU (The English Speaking Union), is a platform for the promotion of the English language among students in Azerbaijan and their participation in international programs. With over 100 years of experience, ESU joins 54 countries around the world, with more than 1 million young people participating in its projects so far.
