Today, auditorium classes at Azerbaijan University are dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. At the lessons, the memory of the victims of the genocide and the children of the Motherland who rose to the peak of martyrdom in the battles for ensuring the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the liberation of our historical lands from occupation were silently commemorated, and special lessons dedicated to the Khojaly genocide were organized.

It was mentioned in the lessons that 30 years ago, on the night of February 25-26, Armenian Armed Forces committed genocide against the peaceful Azerbaijan population during the occupation of  Khojaly city with the participation of Russia's 366th motorized rifle regiment. As a result of the genocide, 613 residents of Khojaly were killed, 8 families were completely destroyed, 25 children lost both parents, 130 children lost one of their parents. 487 people, including 76 children, were injured by enemy bullets. 1275 people were captured. The fate of 150 people, including 68 women and 26 children, is still unknown.

It was reported that the revenge of the victims of the Khojaly genocide, which is forever engraved in the blood memory of our people, was taken on the battlefield with the great victory we achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War, and their blood was not left on the ground.

It was mentioned at the lessons that the recognition of the Khojaly genocide is one of the main directions of Azerbaijan's foreign policy. Every year February 26 is commemorated in our country and in different countries of the world as the day of remembrance of the Khojaly genocide, "Justice for Khojaly!" The facts of Khojaly are brought to the attention of the world community as part of the international awareness campaign.
