An event titled “Our language and morality” organized by the Department of the Azerbaijani Language and Literature was held with the participation of the students of the faculty of Humanitarian courses.

Science reports were presented on the activity of the notable linguists Aghamusa Akhundov, Tofig Hajiyev, Abdulazal Damirchizada, Mammadagha Shiraliyev, Yusif Seyidov, Farhad Zeynalov, Mukhtar Huseynzada and Afad Gurbanov who have had an important role in formation of the Azerbaijani linguism. In the speeches it was noted that, our linguists played an important role in studying the history of Azerbaijani linguism and analyzing the stages of its development.

In the event poems and songs were performed by students illustrating our native language in linguo-cultural terms in the context “Our language is our existence and morality!”. A piece of “Marziya” poem by Bakhtiyar Vahabzada, “Ana dilim” (My native language) by Tofig Bayram, “Manim dilim” (My language), “Ana dilim, turk dili” (My native language-Turkish language) poems  by Khalil Rza Uluturk and “Ana dilimizi sevek ve sevdirek” (Let’s love and promote our native language”) song and other performances dedicated to the history, purity and protection of our language were greeted with applauses.

The students got prepared for the event with the guidance of the head teacher of the department Ulkar Ibrahimova.
