Azerbaijan University held another event dedicated to the life and creation of the brilliant thinker and poet Imadaddin Nasimi, who left a deep mark in the philosophical thought of the Azerbaijani people. The event was jointly organized by the Department of the Azerbaijan Language and Literature and the Department of Foreign Languages based on the decree of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev dated January 11, 2019 declaring this year to be the “Year of Nasimi” and by the university’s action plan.

The head of the Department of the Azerbaijan Language and Literature Ulviyya Rahimova informed participants about the holding in 2019 of events dedicated to the 650th anniversary of Imadeddin Nasimi, in our country and abroad, and at Azerbaijan University, drew attention to the significant work related to the study and propaganda of the heritage of an outstanding poet.

Lecturer of the department Ulviya Aliyeva emphasized that the literary and philosophical heritage of Nasimi is the treasury of the Azerbaijani people and its systematic study is very important.

The head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Samira Mammadova, thanked the teachers and students for their help in implementing this event.

Further, students majoring in philology and history read the poet's lyric poems, and student translators presented 2 episodes from the “Nasimi” film in English.

The event ended after memorable photos have been taken.
