Azerbaijan University hosted a "Day of Remembrance" as a sign of deep respect for our soldiers and officers who fought heroically in the Great Patriotic War and sacrificed their lives for the sake of territorial administration, as well as all our military and civilian martyrs.

At 12.00 on the first day of the commemoration event, the memory of the martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence and the National Anthem was played. Flowers were laid in front of the memory of the martyrs and memories of the Azerbaijan University.

The commemorative event continued in online format. Rector of the University Saadat Aliyeva noted in her speech that our war is a fair war. Because we have waged a war for the liberation of our lands, for the restoration of rights and justice, for the return of hundreds of thousands of

IDPs to their homes. The rector said that our leader is the leader of the presidential-army-people's unity, the courage and bravery of the Azerbaijani soldier, the solidarity of the Azerbaijani people, the political will of the President of Azerbaijan, Muzaffar Ali Ilham Aliyev.

In her speech, Saadat Aliyeva thanked the mothers who fought heroically in the Great Patriotic War and raised the martyrs, veterans, officers and soldiers who liberated Karabakh from the occupiers. The rector said: "I remember all the martyrs with deep respect who liberated our flag from occupation, waved it in the settlement and the city, gave their lives for the land we saved, and wish our veterans good health and long life."

According to the rector's speech that our homeland is the legacy of our Karabakh martyr, who started the work on Azerbaijan and Karabakh. It is the duty of each of us to protect this deposit and pay our moral debt to them. The use of innovation in science and technology also played an important role in the knowledge we gained during the war. This sets new challenges and new tasks for Azerbaijani science and education.

In their speeches, they touched upon the settlement of the Minsk conflict, the peaceful political settlement of the Armenian conflict, the prevention of the Great Patriotic War and serious issues. It was stressed that the Victory gained after the Patriotic War and 44 days will live forever as the most glorious page in the history of Azerbaijan.
