The 8th domestic chess championship dedicated to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev and the 30th anniversary of the Azerbaijan University was held at the Azerbaijan University.

Students from all faculties and specialties took part in the traditional BLTS championship.

The winner of the tournament was Sadi Bashirov, a first-year student majoring in social work at the Faculty of Humanities. Ulker Abdurahmanli, a first-year master's student majoring in youth affairs, took second place, and Nahid Mammadov, a second-year student majoring in history at the Faculty of Humanities, took third place.

The winners were awarded trophies and diplomas.

The competition is organized in order to effectively organize students' leisure time and increase the popularity of chess.
