The story "Tilly's Christmas" by Louisa May Allcott was staged at Azerbaijan University. The students studying at Translation specialty of Humanities Faculty performed the play in English. The students got prepared for the performance dedicated to the 31st of December - the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and New Year with the guidance of the head of the Foreign Languages Department Samira Mammadova and the teacher Fazila Zakirova.

Tilly - the hero of the story on her way home finds a wounded bird and heals it. That very night Tilly makes a holiday wish and sleeps. All her dreams come true as soon as she wakes up.

Rector of Azerbaijan University Saadat Aliyeva watched the play, as well. She thanked everyone who contributed to staging the play. Saadat Aliyeva noted that the performance performed by the students brought a New Year spirit to Azerbaijan University: “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Azerbaijan University staff on the occasion of the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and New Year, wish abundance to everyone, peace and victory to our country.
