The 7th Domestic Chess Tournament in memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev was held at Azerbaijan University. Students from all faculties and specialties participated in the traditional tournament.

The winner of the tournament was Javid Ahmadov, a second-year student of the School of Business and Economics majoring in marketing. Yusif Kayibov, a first-year student of the School of Humanities majoring in translation, took the second place and the third-year student majoring in history, Jeyhun Hajiyev took the third place.

The winners were awarded with cups and diplomas.

The competition is organized for the purpose of efficient organization of students' leisure time and increasing the chess popularity.
