A new student research project "My Azerbaijan: a victorious country, a victorious people", organically combining students' professional training and independent creative activity, education in the spirit of patriotism, has been launched with the organization of the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature at the Azerbaijan University, which is distinguished by its innovation in the field of teaching and research activities. Independent work on the subject of "Country Studies", taught to first-year students majoring in Philology within the project, was prepared not in the traditional way, but in the regions where each student was born and formed, taking into account the requirements of the curriculum. As part of the project, students conducted independent research on the nature, history, ethnography, folklore, monuments and sights, prominent personalities, multicultural environment and socio-economic development of their region - village or district. A part of the student research is dedicated to the martyrs and veterans from those regions who fought in our army, who took part in our glorious victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, led by Muzaffar Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. During the semester, students collected and researched various sources of information, interviews with parents, family elders, the elderly, based on personal observations, and summarized the results of their research in the form of a special presentation.

Before the presentation of the independent work, the project manager, Professor Asif Hajiyev, who teaches "Country Studies", noted the importance of the project, its implementation in accordance with the ideology of Azerbaijanism, multiculturalism policy, regional development strategy, and the formation of students' knowledge of Azerbaijani studies, patriotism and independent research skills.

Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Associate Professor Safar Mammadov and Head of the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature, Associate Professor Ulviya Rahimova, who participated in the presentation, praised the content and form of presentation of students' independent research on the project "My Azerbaijan: a victorious country, a victorious people" and noted the importance of teaching, research and education, the effectiveness of the continuation of activities in this direction, the role of philological students in the development of independent research skills, a sense of statehood and citizenship.
