The official part of the XXVIII "Graduate Day" dedicated to the graduates of the 2021/2022 academic year of Azerbaijan University was held. The event was attended by university management, professors and teachers, guests and graduates.

At the event, the dear memory of our martyrs who died for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute's silence, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Anthem of Azerbaijan University were played.

In the official part, Rector of the university Saadat Aliyeva made an opening speech. In her speech, the rector recalled the words of Heyder Aliyev : "Education is an important area of life and activity of every state, country, society. Society cannot develop without education" and noted that the educational institution she leads has provided its students with all the opportunities to fulfill the tasks set for higher education by our state.

Azerbaijan University has mobilized its technical and personnel potential in order to prepare specialists with comprehensive knowledge and skills in all majors taught, and to educate morally healthy young people. In her speech, Saadat Aliyeva congratulated the graduates and wished them success in the next period of their lives, in their work life or in the next level of education.

Psychologist Elnur Rustamov, the guest of the event, conveyed his best wishes to the graduates and said that education is not limited to university life. The psychologist emphasized that lifelong education ensures competitiveness in the labor market, graduates should be ready for this process.

Among the guests of the event was Mammad Karimli, a 2017 graduate of the university majoring in computer engineering, the head of the Informatics department of "Hadaf" high school and the coordinator of the Olympics. In his speech, Mammad Karimli shared his memories of his student years with the event participants.

Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Safar Mammadov, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies Asif Pashayev, Head of the Department of Finance and Economics Nariman Buyukkishi, Head of the Nasimi District Youth and Sports Department Shahmar Taghiyev congratulated the graduates and expressed their good wishes. Shahmar Taghiyev awarded an honorary decree to 4 students of Azerbaijan University for their activity in the public life of the region.

It should be noted that 365 graduates of Azerbaijan University are graduating this year, 274 of whom are bachelors and 91 are masters. Najiba Aliyeva, a student of the Faculty of Business and Economics, graduated from Azerbaijan University with the first place in the 2021/2022 academic year with an average success rate of 91.12. On the 28th Graduation Day, Najiba Aliyeva and 10 other students who graduated with high marks were presented with honorary decrees of the Rector of Azerbaijan University. Najiba Aliyeva, who wrote her name in the history of the university, spoke on behalf of the graduates of the 2021/2022 academic year and thanked the university staff and teachers.

The official part continued with the concert program of singer Ilkin Fuad. The artistic part of the event will be held today at "Excelsior Hotel&Spa Baku" by the pool.
