Docent of the department of the Azerbaijani language and literature, doctor of philosophy on philology Lala Aliguliyeva had an interview with Azerbaijan State Information Agency “Azertaj”. In the interview was mentioned that nowadays rules of the Azerbaijani language are broken both in verbal and written languages. Meanwhile, in Mass Media and internet sites we can see a number of mistakes. Having rich lexical content and clear grammatical structure not using the opportunities of the Azerbaijani language comprehensively is unfortunately widely spread. The decree of President Ilham Aliyev signed in November 1, 2018 “On measures related to maintaining the purity of the Azerbaijani language and further improving the use of the state language” is a great sample of our president’s attention and care of the development, promotion and maintaining the purity of our mother tongue.
The docent brought to attention the necessity of teaching the skills of right usage of speech ethics, listening skills, facial expressions and gestures, age, attitude towards the people according to their age, behavior and duty.
According to Lala Aliguliyeva’s opinion, teaching of the history of the literary language, historical grammar, culture of speech, general linguistics, teaching methodology of the Azerbaijani language and other subjects on the basis of requirements of modernity, applying national curriculum, new technologies should be among the main purposes of teaching our language. Furthermore, by giving place to the discussions about the topical issues of the day, relating the mother tongue, culture, world civilization, globalization and other issues with the teaching should constitute the cornerstone of teaching of the Azerbaijani language at all higher and secondary schools.
