Azerbaijan University hosted a meeting with representatives of Huawei Azerbaijan. The meeting was attended by Yusif Gasimov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the University, Asif Pashayev, Dean of the Information and Communication Technologies Faculty, Rashad Mastaliyev, Head of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department, Chen Liang, Vice President for Public Relations of Huawei Azerbaijan and Eldeniz Aliyev, Partner Relationship Manager of the Company. 

First, the guests made a report about Huawei Azerbaijan and provided information about the Company's activities in Azerbaijan.  It was noted that 70 percent of network equipment of mobile operators in Azerbaijan falls on the share of Huawei. The company participates in construction and development of Smart Villages in Karabakh. Of particular interest was information about the Company's role in implementation of the “Smart Village” concept in the areas liberated from occupation, including in the Agaly village of Zangilan district. The guests also informed about various internship and educational programs provided by the Company, including Huawei ICT Academy.  

Then vice-rector for Scientific Affairs Yusif Gasimov informed the representatives about the short history of Azerbaijan University, its achievements in the field of scientific research, various startup projects of students, their participation in international and local knowledge competitions. 

At the end, it was decided to hold the next meeting to explore the prospects for joint cooperation between Azerbaijan University and Huawei Azerbaijan, in particular, the possibilities of establishing Huawei ICT Academy at Azerbaijan University.
