A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Azerbaijan University and Urgench State Pedagogical Institute of Uzbekistan. The document was signed by Saadat Aliyeva, Rector of Azerbaijan University, and Jumanazar Yarmetov, Rector of Urgench State Pedagogical Institute. The purpose of the memorandum is to establish and develop cooperation relations between these higher education institutions.  

The Memorandum provides for the exchange of researchers and other administrative personnel; exchange of students, graduate students, and lecturers; implementation of joint research projects and experience programs; organization of joint lectures and symposiums; exchange of academic information and materials, as well as similar joint cooperation activities.
