Azərbaycan Universitetində “Autizm Maarifləndirmə Günü” qeyd olunub
Azerbaijan University held an event within the framework of “April 2 - World Autism Awareness Day”. The event was attended by the academic staff of Azerbaijan University, representatives of Youth and Sports Sector of Narimanov District and Azerbaijan Autism Association, specialists, representatives of NGOs.
Information about the establishment and purpose of the Autism Awareness Day, autism spectrum disorders and signs, diagnosis, treatment, official statistics, establishment of inclusive education system was provided at the event.
The speeches and reports by Nigar Shahhuseynbayova, Head of Social Work Organization Department of Azerbaijan University, Bahaddin Huseynov, Head of Youth and Sports Sector of Narimanov District, journalist Urfan Mammadli, the host of the “Let's not keep it for Tomorrow” program of Ictimai TV, Turkish specialist Ozden Erbash, Umida Kangarli, Head of ”ABA” Children Development Center, Gulshan Eminova, lecturer of Baku Girls' University, PhD in Pedagogy were heard at the event.
In the speeches and reports, it was noted that the number of children with autism in the world, as well as in Azerbaijan, is growing rapidly. The importance of quick detection of the problem and enlightening measures was emphasized, and the need to prepare a state program in this area was brought to the attention.
It should be noted that the event was organized by students of State and Public Relations speciality Farid Abbasov, Pari Huseynzada, Basti Agaliyeva and student of Political Science speciality of Azerbaijan University Shovkat Aliyeva.
