Azerbaijan University hosted IX Internal Chess Tournament dedicated to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev. The competition which was attended by 22 students from all faculties and specialties of the University was organized according to the “blts system”. Participants were competing individually. 

Mirhuseyn Rovshan oglu Agayev, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Business and Economics majoring in Marketing, became the winner of the tournament. Second place was taken by Sadi Sadullah oglu Bashirov, a second-year student of the Faculty of Humanities majoring in Social Works, and third place went to Rasul Elkhan oglu Guliyev, a third-year student of the Faculty of Business and Economics majoring in Finance.

The winners were awarded with cups and diplomas.

The competition is held in order to effectively organize leisure activities for students and increase the popularity of chess.
