An essay competition on “Azerbaijan is a masterpiece of Heydar Aliyev” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev has ended at Azerbaijan University. About 20 students took part in the competition. Essays were assessed by a jury consisting of lecturers of the Department of Translation and Philology.

According to the decision of the jury, Sevinj Turbandayeva took 1st place (Philology, English language and literature, 4th year), Nurana Mammadova took 2nd place (State and public relations, 2nd year), Fazila Aydamirova took 3rd place (Philology, Azerbaijani language and literature, 2nd year) in the competition.

At the final event of the competition, the winners were awarded with a certificate and a gifts. Other students who submitted essays to the competition were awarded a certificate of participation.

The purpose of the essay competition is to focus on the research and study of the rich and diverse legacy of the national leader Heydar Aliyev by students. The competition is held in order to ensure the implementation of Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 29, 2022 on declaring 2023 the “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in the Republic of Azerbaijan and the action plan of Azerbaijan University to be implemented within the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”.
