An educational seminar was held at Azerbaijan University with the participation of students who will vote for the first time in the extraordinary presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan scheduled for February 7, 2024. The purpose of the event, organized by the Union of Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations and supported by the Central Election Commission (CEC), was to increase the level of awareness and voter activity of students who will vote for the first time in the elections to be held on February 7.

At the event, CEC member Shahiddin Aliyev explained the reasons for holding the extraordinary presidential elections, informed the participants about the electoral system, current legislation, voting procedure, rights and obligations of the voters, participation of the media in the elections, and the operation procedure of observers. In his speech, the CEC member also brought to the attention statistical data on constituencies, polling stations, local and international observers registered. He noted that 26 polling stations are located in the liberated territories.

The CEC member emphasized that for the first time in the period of independence, elections will be held after the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan are fully ensured, and congratulated the students on their participation in this historical process.
