The Vice-Rector of Azerbaijan University made a report at a scientific conference

Yusif Gasimov, Vice-Rector for Research of Azerbaijan University, made a report at the plenary session of the Republican scientific conference on “Modern problems of university science and education” dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Sumgayit State University (SSU). The event was organized online via the zoom platform.

The conference was opened by the welcome speech of Prof. Ramazan Mammadov, the SSU Vice-Rector for science and innovations. Having delivered a report on the topic “Linguistic-didactic view on the problem of the unity of science, education, and upbringing”, Ramazan Mammadov informed the participants about the history of SSU, the establishment, directions of its activities, international programs, and projects implemented by it. 

At the beginning of his speech Yusif Gasimov, Vice-Rector for Research of Azerbaijan University recalled the decrees of President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Sumgait State University and on awarding the employees of Sumgayit State University for their services in the development of education in Azerbaijan, as well as congratulated the staff of this University who was awarded the honorary title of “Honored Teacher” and awarded with the “Progress” medal. 

Yusif Gasimov then made a speech on “Higher education in Azerbaijan: modern challenges”. In his report, the Vice-Rector touched upon the qualitative changes that have taken place in the world over the past ten years in the field

 of science and education and stressed the importance of cooperation between the University and industry.

On behalf of the staff of Azerbaijan University, we also congratulate the management and staff of Sumgait State University on their anniversary and wish them success in their future activities.

It should be noted that representatives of higher educational institutions in Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Russia also participated in the conference. The Conference continued its work throughout the day in 9 sessions.
