The event "March 31 - the Day of the Genocide of Azerbaijanis", organized by the Department of Social Sciences, was held at the Azerbaijan University. At the event dedicated to the Genocide Remembrance Day, the head of the Department of Social Sciences, Professor Gabil Aliyev noted that the investigation of the tragedy of the genocide against our people, carried out in March-April 1918 by the Russian-Dashnak Bolshevik Union, was initiated by the national leader Heydar Aliyev. On March 26, 1998, by a decree signed by Heydar Aliyev, on March 31, 1918, was proclaimed the "Day of the Genocide of Azerbaijanis." After that, as a result of research carried out in this area, many new facts and documents were collected, many works were written.

Member of the National Parliament, Professor Anar Iskandarov said that the Armenians living with the dream of "Great Armenia" in the twentieth century in 1905-1907, 1918-1920, at the end of 1980, at the beginning of 1990, three times carried out mass murders and genocide, ethnic cleansing and acts of widespread genocide. The events are inherently similar, the only difference is in time. Because historical forgetfulness and loss of memory leads to a repetition of tragic events.

Materials collected by the acting in 1918-1920 The Extraordinary Research Commission, created by the Government of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, created conditions for a political assessment and clarification of the essence of the genocide of our people.

For many years, the Azerbaijani state has been systematically working to bring truthful information to the international community, but due to the lack of legal force to solve this problem, it was forced to use military force. As a result of the victory in the Patriotic War, which lasted 44 days, historical justice was restored. This time the Azerbaijani people have not forgotten anything. Today it is a victorious people and their dreams have changed. Now the Azerbaijani people will write a new history and this new history must be both comprehensive and fair.

Asmar Mustafayeva, a 1st year master's student specializing in "New and Contemporary History of Azerbaijan", spoke on the topic "Murders and robberies of Armenian armed formations in 1918-1920 in Karabakh in relation to the

Azerbaijani population”.

At the end, a video was shown showing the execution of killings and genocide in Baku, Shamakhi, Guba and other regions of our country by the Russian-Bolshevik and Armenian-Dashnak armed formations.
