The AU & SAT team of Azerbaijan University has been awarded a certificate by Azercosmos for its successful participation in the final stage of the CanSat Azerbaijan-2019 satellite model competition. The team consists of Lala Mukhtarova (computer science, master's degree), Fahmin Zakirli (computer engineering, bachelor), Alizaman Habibli (computer engineering, bachelor) and Khayal Ismayilov (computer engineering, bachelor). The students prepared for the competition under the leadership of Asif Pashayev, Dean of ICT Faculty, teachers of the Department of Mathematics and Informatics Abhulhasan Ahmadov and Gunduz Mirzabeyli.

There were 13 teams who qualified for the final stage of the competition.

The CanSat Azerbaijan competition for high school students is co-organized by Azercosmos and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to the terms of the competition, the teams prepare a small satellite model. The model fulfills the designated mission when it falls to the ground after leaving the specified altitude. There were 13 teams that qualified for this year's final.
