Conference dedicated to publicity of folklore works of ethnic minorities has been held at Azerbaijan University
Conference dedicated to publicity of folklore works of ethnic minoroties has been held at Azerbaijan University by Public Union “ Support to Improvement of Folklore and Literature” financed by Council of State Support to Non-Governmental organizations Under the Prezident of the of Azerbaijan.
Ulviyya Rahimova, the head of the Azerbaijani language and Literature department of Azerbaijan University, made an opening speech at the conference and noted that the research of folklore has opened the new page for the science of XX century.
Thus, to research of folklore again and again is essential every time. The Head of department congratulated the participants on behalf of authorities of Azerbaijan University on accomplishing the useful project successfully and wished success to conference organizers and participants.
Kamran Aliyev,the associate member of ANAS,professor of Azerbaijan University and Honoured Scientist, informed the participants about the aim of holding the conference.
Kamran Aliyev pointed out that the aim of the conference is to complile the folklore works , their research and preserve for future generations.
In the event, it was noted that scientific workers of Folklore Institution of ANAS and students of Azerbaijan University got acquiated with nature and history of Lahij, the original place of town-building and architecture of ancient times, and the folklore of this unique land, its traditions and customs.
In his speech, Kamran Aliyev spoke about the tourism opportunities of Lahij , as well. Professor noted that Lahij, located on the Great Silk Way and included in the international tourism routine , is being preserved by the governement as a historical, architectual place. Professor emphisized the importance of folklore works in preserving of culture and the language of ethnic minorities.

by Afag Aslanova, the fourth year student of Azerbaijan University on “ The originality of Lahij anecdotes ” were presented to conference attendees.
The reports made in the conference will be published and presented to conference participants.
