Events dedicated to Nizami Ganjavi’s 880th anniversary continue to be held at Azerbaijan University. The next such event was organized jointly by the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature and the Department of Foreign Languages.

At the opening of the literary-artistic program "God of the artistic word: Nizami Ganjavi" prepared with the participation of the students, the head of the department of Azerbaijani language and literature Ulviya Rahimova noted that Nizami Ganjavi was a genius given to the Azerbaijani people in the 12th century. The head of the department said that Nizami Ganjavi’s works were among the masterpieces of world literature. Samira Mammadova, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, said that our people highly valued Nizami Ganjavi’s rich heritage and always owned it. The enthusiastic preparation of the students for the event is the most obvious evidence of their respect and love for him.

The event provided information about the genius poet's creativity and poems, the scenes from his works were presented, and the ghazals were performed in Azerbaijani and English. Students prepared for the event under the guidance of Solmaz Suleymanova, a teacher at the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature.

The literary-artistic event was organized in accordance with the Order of President Ilham Aliyev on declaring 2021 the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi" in our country and within the "Nizami Ganjavi Year" action plan of the University of Azerbaijan.
