Azerbaijan University continues preparations for the international conference “Works of Nizami Ganjavi as a literary and historical source in the context of studying the ethnogenesis of the Azerbaijani people in the Caucasus and the Turkic world”, which will be held on May 7, 2021.

Professor of the Arizona University of the USA Kamran Talatoff and Professor of the Ball State University Matthew R. Gotham were invited to the international conference as plenary speakers. At the plenary session of the conference, Professor Kamran Talatoff will make a report on the topic: "The Star of the World: Heaven and Space in Nizami's Poetry", and Professor Matthew R. Gotham will make a presentation on the topic: "Clutching the Pearl-Stringer: Exploring Nizami Ganjavi's Poetic Legacy".

The scientific conference, organized as part of the Year of Nizami, is dedicated to the 880th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi. Given the conditions of the pandemic, the conference will be organized using the zoom platform.
