A field trip for the “School of Bioinformatics” project, the winner of the VI Grant Competition for Development and Innovation in Education, funded by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was organized to Azerbaijan University. Dean of the Information and Communication Technologies Faculty, Head of the Applicant Counseling Center Asif Pashayev received students and lecturers - project participants and familiarized them with the academic corps, facilities and resources and laboratories of the University.  

Lecturers and students were provided with detailed information about specialties taught at the University and the opportunities created for students. It was reported that Azerbaijan University, which has been operating since 1991, admits 23 majors at the bachelor's level. Emphasis is placed on the use of modern learning technologies in the educational process. Taking into account the demands and priorities of the business world, new specialties are added to the university admission plan every year. Expansion of international relations, establishment of relations with the world's leading scientific and educational institutions, achievement of international accreditation in various directions are among the priorities and are always in the center of attention. 

Students were also provided with information about the principles of choosing the right specialty, important points to pay attention to when choosing a specialty, as well as about the Applicant Counseling Center operating at the Azerbaijan University. It was reported that the Сenter was established by the State Examination Center and operates free of charge at all stages of the student admission campaign. 

It should be noted that the head of the “School of Bioinformatics” project is Khayala Sardar gizi Ramazanova, a biology teacher at secondary school № 2 named after R. Huseynov in the village of Uzuntape, Jalilabad district. The main goal of the grant competition is to stimulate healthy competition and innovative activity in educational institutions and teaching staff.
