The republican conference on "Gender problem and modern Azerbaijan" is being held at Azerbaijan University today. The conference registration will begin at 10.00a.m. and the opening ceremony and plenary session will begin at 11.00a.m.

The purpose of the conference is to maintain the issue of ensuring gender equality in the center stage, to share scientific achievements and experiences gained in this field, to analyze existing problems and to propose the ways to solve them in Azerbaijan.

The conference will start with playing the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Rector of Azerbaijan University Saadat Aliyeva’s opening speech.

After the opening ceremony and plenary session the conference will continue its work in three sections - Gender History, Gender Issues in Literature and Religion, Legal Aspects of Gender.

The Conference is expected to involve representatives of relevant government agencies and NGOs, as well as well-known researchers and experts in the area of ensuring gender equality.

About 100 articles were admitted for the conference, and conference materials were published in bulk.
