Presentation ceremony and scientific seminar of the book “Turkish-speaking era of European history” by PhD Prof. Chingiz Garasharli was held at Azerbaijan University. This hybrid event was jointly organized by the Translation&Philology and Azerbaijani Language&Literature Departments of University. 

The presentation ceremony was opened by Ulviyya Rahimova, head of the Azerbaijani Language&Literature Department. Head of the department noted that presented book has great linguistic, as well as historical significance. From this point of view, modern Europeans who claim that From this point of view, modern Europeans who claim that Turks in Anatolia and in the Mediterranean basin as a whole are comers, as well as some Turks who are accustomed to the idea of Anatolia's “thousand-year Turkish history” should carefully read Herodotus, Homer, and Western historians of later ages and familiarize themselves with the four thousand-year-old Turkish history of Europe. 

Author of the book, professor Chingiz Garasharli informed participants about idea and process of the work, expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijan University staff for their attention. Author noted that the book seeks an answer to the question "Is the homeland of the Turks Central Asia?" and sheds light on topics such as Turkish culture in Central Europe, the existence of Turkish civilization in Europe from very ancient times, and the beginning of Turkish history in Anatolia.   

Yusif Gasimov, Vice-Rector for Research of Azerbaijan University, emphasized that the translated versions of the book were published in different European countries. 

Then professors of Azerbaijani Language and Literature Department Gorkhmaz Guliyev, Asif Hajiyev, Dean of the Humanities Faculty Safar Mammadov, head of the Department of Social Work Organization Tunzala Verdiyeva, head of the Translation and Philology Department Samira Mammadova, the Associate Prof. Nazim Muradov, head of the Turkish Language and Literature Department of Lefke European University of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, joined the presentation ceremony online, the Associate Prof. Ihsan Tayhani, head of the Department of History, Prof. Alasgar Siyabli, historian and scientist from Germany shared their thoughts about the book and thanked the author. 

At the end Chingiz Garasharli answered the questions addressed to him. 

It should be noted that the book "Turkish-speaking era of European history" was also published in English.
