At the meeting of the Foreign Language Department of Azerbaijan University, the preliminary discussion of the dissertation work was held on " The role of grammar in the information structure of the text in modern English " performed by  Banovsha Allahverdi gizi  Asgarova for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Philology.

At the meeting chaired by the head of Foreign Language  department, head of the department, associate professor Samira Mammadova, reviewer prof. Chingiz Karaşarlı, associate professor  Ramila Huseynova, prof.  Zeynalabdin, phd Sabina Isgandarova, teachers of the department  associate professor Fazila Zakirova, Aygun Durur, Rena Karimova, Parvana Movsumova, Gulchohra Gadirova, Laman Gasimli, Zuleykha Baghirzade, Head of the Department of Social Work, phd  Tunzala Verdiyeva Efendiyeva took part in it.. The chairman introduced the applicant to the participants of the discussion and informed him about his scientific and pedagogical activity.

The applicant informed about the scientific relevance of the dissertation, the goals and objectives of the research, the main scientific innovations, acquainted the participants with the brief content of the work and answered the questions. Afterwards, the teaching staff of the department discussed the presented dissertation and praised it as a completed scientific research work. In the end, it was noted that the dissertation meets the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, and it was decided to recommend it to the next stage of defense.
