At the meeting of Social Sciences Department of Azerbaijan University, the preliminary discussion of the thesis research on “History of the development of weaving art in Karabakh in the XIX-beginning of the XX centuries” prepared by Musayev Telman Farman oglu for a PhD in History degree was held. 

The meeting, chaired by the head of the Department of social sciences, professor Gabil Aliyev, was attended by reviewers Associate Prof. Nushaba Guliyeva, Ph.D. Prof. Habil Mammadov, Ph.D. Prof. Gasim Hajiyev, Associate Prof. Mammadaga Bakhishov, Ph.D. Muhammad Aliyev, Ph.D. Associate Prof. Salman Ibishov, Ph.D. Nasimi Rzayev, chief lecturer Aybeniz Guliyeva and other lecturers of the Department. Chairman presented the applicant to the discussion participants and gave information about his scientific and pedagogical activity.

The applicant provided information about scientific relevance of his thesis research, its purpose and objectives, the main scientific innovations, acquainted the participants with brief content of his work and answered the questions.

Later, the academic staff of the department discussed the presented thesis research and highly appreciated it as a completed scientific research work.

In conclusion, it was noted that the thesis research meets requirements set by the Higher Attestation Commission for obtaining the PhD in History degree and it was decided to recommend it to the next stage of the defense.
