The first meeting of the Committee for Educational Affairs and Quality Assurance was held within the framework of the ECAR project

The first meeting of the Committee for Educational Affairs and Quality Assurance was held within the framework of the “Erasmus+” project entitled “Establishment of the Rectors' Conference in Azerbaijan” (ECAR), of which Azerbaijan University is a partner. At the meeting organized at Azerbaijan Technical University, functions of the committee, requirements for candidacy for chairmanship, and procedure for selection of the board and chairman were presented to the partners and appropriate amendments were made based on their opinions. 

Eldar Aslanov, Vice-Rector for academic affairs of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, was elected chairman of the committee board, Nigar Rustamova, Vice-rector for academic affairs of Azerbaijan University of Culture and Arts, and Gabil Gafarov, Vice-rector for the organization of education and training technologies of Odlar Yurdu University, were elected deputy chairman at the meeting. 

Parviz Bagirov, director of the Azerbaijan National Office of the “Erasmus+” program, also attended the first meeting of the committee and wished success to the project.

It should be noted that the activity of 5 committees – specifically Committee for Internationalization, Committee for Educational Affairs and Quality Assurance, Committee for Scientific Affairs, Committee for Strategic Development, and Committee for Work with Students and Graduates – will be included in the Azerbaijan Rectors' Conference to be established within the framework of the ECAR project. 

The coordinator of the project, which is being implemented with the financial support of the European Commission, is Baku Business University. The main goal of the project, covering 2021-2024, is to develop a national network and cooperation between universities and other stakeholders through the creation of a conference of rectors in accordance with national development strategies.
