The first meeting of the Committee for Strategic Development was held within the framework of the ECAR project

The first meeting of the Committee for Strategic Development was held within the framework of the “Erasmus+” project entitled “Establishment of the Rectors' Conference in Azerbaijan” (ECAR), of which Azerbaijan University is a partner. At the online meeting, the project partners discussed issues of strategic development, functions of the committee, requirements for candidacy of the chairman of the committee, as well as the procedure for electing the board and the chairman of the committee. In the course of the discussions, the opinions of the participants were heard and appropriate amendments were made based on their opinions.  

Araz Aslanli, Vice-rector for education and innovation of the Academy of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was elected chairman of the committee board, Doctor of philology, Prof. Sevinj Zeynalova, Vice-rector for educational affairs of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, and Faina Gachabeyova, Head of the Quality Assurance Department of the Azerbaijan University of Tourism and Management, were elected deputy chairman at the meeting

It should be noted that the activity of 5 committees – specifically Committee for Internationalization, Committee for Educational Affairs and Quality Assurance, Committee for Scientific Affairs, Committee for Strategic Development, and Committee for Work with Students and Graduates – will be included in the Azerbaijan Rectors' Conference to be established within the framework of the ECAR project. 

The coordinator of the project, which is being implemented with the financial support of the European Commission, is Baku Business University. The main goal of the project, covering 2021-2024, is to develop a national network and cooperation between universities and other stakeholders through the creation of a conference of rectors in accordance with national development strategies.
