Lecture on "Social Work and Human Rights" by the Empathy Club

The "Empathy" club, operating under the Department of Social Work at the University of Azerbaijan, organized a lecture on "Social Work and Human Rights" for students on December 10 - International Human Rights Day. The lectures were given by the club's instructors, the first-year student of the master's degree in Youth Affairs Ulviyya Mehdiyeva and the second-year student of the Master's degree in Social work in various fields of life Asli Khalilova.

The lecture covered topics such as the concept of human rights, the International Declaration of Human Rights, the three generations of human rights, human rights in Azerbaijan, Social workers and human rights.

It should be noted that the UN General Assembly adopted the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" on December 10, 1948. Since 1950  December 10 was offered to be celebrated as Human Rights Day in all states and interested organizations. The purpose of the adoption of this document was to establish human rights and norms that all countries must follow. The Declaration is an important international document that demonstrates the possibilities for cooperation between countries with different socioeconomic structures in the field of human rights protection. It also has a positive impact on the constitution and laws of the world. The nations of the world use the provisions of the Declaration in their struggle for their rights, peace, democracy, and progress.
