Today, the School of Humanities of Azerbaijan University has held an event to commemorate the great composer and musician, Uzeyir Hajibeyov. The contribution to the event was made by first year Philology (Azerbaijan language and Literature) students  who exhibited their skills in English pronunciation. Being simultaneously a course end celebration, their performance was organized by their Practical English Language teacher and university head teacher, Khaver Aliyeva.

The event highlighted the great composer's life and creativity featured by the students in the English language and presented in slides and videos.

Ayan Ahmadova covered Uzeyir Hajibeyov's youth, Aynura Heydarli - interesting points in creativity, Konul Isayeva – comedies and operas, and Elshad Gasimli - the final years of life.

The event was attended by the dean of the school and associate professor, Safar Mammadov. The dean noted that the knowledge of English extends career possibilities, which is why students should work on it harder.

The dean also congratulated students on the upcoming December 31 - Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and New Year, and wished good luck in their examinations.
