Dean elections at the Faculty of Humanities have been completed. Elections were held in accordance with “the Rules of holding the positions of Department Head, Dean and Vice-Dean of the Higher Education Institutions” dated November 15, 2017 of the Board of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to the results of the secret ballot, Safar Mammadov was elected as the dean of the faculty.

We congratulate Mr.Mammadov and wish him success in his administrative and  scientific- pedagogical activities!

Writer - publicist Safar Mammadov is a candidate of philological sciences and docent. He writes his works under the pen-name "Kalbikhanli".

He conferred his bachelor degree at ASRLPI named after M.F.Akhundov in 1989. He started his labor activity in Alar village of Jalilabad region as a teacher at the same year. He was a post-graduate of ASRLPI named after M.F.Akhundov in 1989-1991. S.Mammadov worked as a teacher in 1992-2001, a vice-dean in 2001-2012 and a dean 2012-2016 at this university. He has been working at Azerbaijan University since 2016. He was a Dean of the Faculty of Humanities in 2016-2018. 

He is a Member of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, and receives Presidential Scholarship since 2013-2014.   He is the author of “Sənsiz günlərim” (“Days without you”) (1997), “Son sığal” (“The Last caress”) (1999), “Bəxtəvər ölüm” (“Lucky death”) (2012) of artistic-publicist books, 1methodical work (Творческий путь С.Есенина), and co-author of 1 textbook (Русская литература ХХ века). He translated Vladimir Nabokov's “Selected Works" into Azerbaijani.  The author’s novels “Lujin mudafiesi” ("Lujin's Defense"), “Obskur kamerası”, ("Obskur Camera") and "Mashenka" are collected in this book.
