The joint “Smart Village” team of the Azerbaijan University and the Research Institute of Aerospace Informatics took 3rd place in the contest of startup projects for young researchers. The “Startup 2023” contest was organized by the National Aerospace Agency under the Ministry of Defense Industry on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev. Diplomas were awarded to the winners of contest at the scientific conference on “Space technologies in Azerbaijan and the genius of Heydar Aliyev”. 

The “Smart Village” project aims to realize the components of smart village infrastructure in international practice in stages. The project provides for automatic or remote maintenance of crops, floriculture, vegetable farms, greenhouses. Students of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies Mahammad Behbudov (Computer Engineering, 4th year student), Nadir Mammadov (Computer Engineering, 2nd year student), Sanan Ismayilov (Computer Engineering, 2nd year student), Eyvaz Bayramov (Computer Engineering, 2nd year student), Amil Gasimov (Computer Engineering, 2nd year student) and Elvin Madinov (Computer Engineering, 2nd year student) participated in the project.
