The closing ceremony of "Volunteer" Student Scholarship Program was held. Winners of the program were awarded scholarship cards at the ceremony held at YARAT Contemporary Art Center.

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Intigam Babayev, Chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee Fuad Muradov, Deputy Chair of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ulvi Mehdiyev and other officials attended the event.

The "Volunteer" Student Scholarship Program was announced on October 20, 2017, in order to express a public support for the wider promotion of youth volunteerism in accordance with paragraph 5.7.5 of the State Program "Azerbaijani Youth in 2017-2021".

The budget of the "Voluntary" Student Scholarship Program was formed by the personal and voluntary initiative of the author at the expense of the proceeds from the sale of personal development book “Start if you are young!” for young people written by the graduate of Azerbaijan University, published according to the resolution of the Scientific Council of Azerbaijan University, assistant professor Nadir Adilov. The total amount of the scholarship fund is 3000 AZN.

58 applications were submitted till January 15, 2017 to the contest held for the purpose of supporting the progressive ideas and initiatives of volunteer students studying in higher education institutions at the initiative of the Azerbaijan University, ASAN Volunteers and the "Azerbaijan Universities" educational-Facebook page and with the support of the "Bir" Student Volunteer Program of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Appeals to the program were evaluated by the commission established accordingly and it was decided to grant a one-time scholarship of 500 AZN to each of the 2 volunteers. At the same time, it was decided to allocate a one-time monetary prize to each of the 20 student-volunteers to support their ideas and encourage volunteerism.
