In the editorial office of Qafqazinfo.az news portal, Associate Prof. Samira Mammadova, the head of the Translation and Philology Department of Azerbaijan University delivered her next lecture on the subject “Mass media style”, taught by her under the master's program in the specialty “Linguistics (English)”. The lesson is organized according to the schedule of extracurricular activities. 

Elbrus Arud, general director of the portal, and Emin Safarov, website editor, warmly greeted the head of the department and our students and invited them to a round table conversation. Elbrus Arud informed students about the launch of the news portal headed by him, the cycles of its development, the daily working hours of the editorial office, the work principles, daily morning meetings, the distribution of work between correspondents, the preparation and editing of news, the translation of news from the foreign press and placement on the website. In his speech, Arud focused on the style of news and explained it with examples. He also pointed out that ethical norms and journalistic responsibility are of great importance in journalistic activities.  

After, website editor Emin Safarov answered students' questions on the subject and said he highly appreciated the University's initiative. 

The students left the meeting with good impressions and great pleasure.
