Yusif Gasimov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the University of Azerbaijan, made a report at the meeting of the Working Group on “Technology and Innovation” of the Commission on Business Environment and International Ratings of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On improving the international ranking of scientific publications (H index)" with higher education institutions. Yusif Gasimov said in the report that only 4 Azerbaijani universities were included in the ranking of Scimago on Scopus for this year. Azerbaijan University is also in second place in this ranking. Furthermore, the university is in the top three in the country for the number of articles indexed in the Web of Science database over the past 3 years. In his report the vice-rector also informed about the work carried out at the university to achieve these successes. Yusif Gasimov also made a presentation on scientific publications, their establishment and development in accordance with international standards. During the meeting, the head of the subgroup, Director of the Center for e-Government Development Fariz Jafarov informed about the work done to implement the "Roadmap for 2022 to improve the international ranking of scientific publications." The event, attended by more than 100 participants,

was attended by rectors, vice-rectors, heads of science departments and other academic representatives of more than 40 universities. The main purpose of the event was to discuss the contribution of universities to the development of the country's international ranking of scientific publications (H index), the problems of publishing articles in journals and journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science and other international databases, increase knowledge and share experience in this direction. At the end of the meeting, there was an exchange of views and discussions on the topics.
