The essay contest "Power is in science" dedicated to the works of Nizami Ganjavi, a prominent representative of classical Azerbaijani literature, genius poet and thinker, has ended among the students of Azerbaijan University. Aytekin Karimova, a fourth-year student majoring in philology (Azerbaijani language and literature), was awarded first place by the jury of the competition.

The winner was awarded a first-class diploma and the book "Khamsa". Other students who submitted essays to the competition were awarded "participant certificates".

The purpose of the essay competition is to analyze the value given to science, knowledge and talent in Nizami Ganjavi's work, to instill its benefits for students in society, to teach students the genre of essays and relevant writing principles, and to form an analytical mindset.

The competition was held to ensure the implementation of the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 5, 2021 on the proclamation of 2021 as the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi" in the Republic of Azerbaijan and the action plan of the University of Azerbaijan within the "Nizami Ganjavi Year".
