Lecturer of the Department of Political and Social Sciences of Azerbaijan University, PhD in History Abbas Gurbanov made a report at the International Conference on “Religion in the modern world: prospects, problems and Ramadan”, which was jointly organized by the Georgian State and Muftiat. 

The report entitled “Religion and Ramadan as a Guarantor of Public Unity” highlighted the importance of friendship, cooperation, cultural and religious ties for the elimination of political, economic and social inequality, including injustice in the world. It was also mentioned about the tolerant environment in Azerbaijan, which can serve as an example for the world built among multicultural life and all the differences of society. Abbas Gurbanov invited conference participants to Azerbaijan to see the reality with their own eyes. 

It should be noted that religious figures from Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran, representatives of Recep Tayyip Erdogan University of Turkey and the Karadeniz Technical University attended the conference held in Batumi.
