“Social Work & Social Research” international scientific conference has been started

Plenary speakers of the international scientific conference "Social Work & Social Research" - Professor of Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, USA, founding director of the Center for Social Development Michael Sherraden, Director of international programs of the center Li Zou, Associate director of the center and teacher of the faculty Lissa Johnson, leading researcher of the center and teacher of the faculty Aytekin Huseynli visited Azerbaijan University and met with rector Saadat Aliyeva. At the meeting, views on preparations and organizational issues for the two-day international conference to be held in Baku on November 24-25, 2023, hosted by Azerbaijan University were discussed, and the work of the conference has been started.

The guests were given detailed information about the activity and international relations of Azerbaijan University, the teaching of the social work major, as well as the current state of the organization of social work in the country, access to the labor market and career opportunities for graduates of the major.

At the meeting, possible directions of cooperation between Washington University Center for Social Development and Azerbaijan University were discussed, and an agreement on the diversification of cooperation was reached.

It should be noted that 156 reports from 32 countries of the world were accepted for the two-day international scientific conference jointly organized by Azerbaijan  University, Sakarya University of Turkey, Washington University (St. Louis) and the Center for Social Research.

The working language of the hybrid conference is English. About 40 of the world's most famous scientists from more than 10 countries have confirmed their participation "in person" on the topic of the conference. Through the Zoom platform, participants from about 40 countries will join the work of the conference.
