Educational programs were discussed at the Department of Social Work Organization
The educational programs were discussed at the meeting held at the Department of Social Work Organization of Azerbaijan University with the participation of Tunzala Verdiyeva, head of the Department of Mobile and Semi-stationary Social Services Organization of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Anar Mammadov, deputy director of the Baku City Education Department, Ramida Ogtaygizi, head of the “Orvita” Psychology and Rehabilitation Center, Kamala Ashumova, chairman of the “Ümidli Gələcək” (Hopeful Future) Public Union, Kamala Aghazade, chairman of the “Azərbaycan Uşaqları” (Azerbaijan Children) Public Union, and lecturers of the Department.
During the discussion, issues related to the adaptation of educational programs to labor market students and modern standards; introduction of new technologies and methods related to areas of specialization into programs; adding a number of new competencies to educational programs; competencies related to soft skills, such as problem-solving and analytical skills development, communication and empathy regulation, are also reflected in educational programs; the detailed reflection of the required skills and competencies related to the specialty in educational programs and the like were touched upon.
It was noted at the meeting that the educational programs were prepared in accordance with the standards and partially meet the modern requirements of Education. In view of this, a number of skills and competencies in accordance with the requirements of the labor market should be reflected in educational programs and a petition should be filed before the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Humanities.
It should be noted that, the Department of Social Work Organization conducts training of specialists of “Socio-psychological service in education”, “Social Work”, “Corrective training” on Bachelor's programs, and “Social work in various fields of life activity”, “Work with youth” and “Socio-psychological service in education” on Master's programs.
