Students of Azerbaijan University studying Organization of Tourism and Tour Guide specialties visited the Balakhany settlement on the occasion of their professional holiday – the Tourism Workers Day. The students were led by Gahraman Yusupov, a lecturer of the Department of Finance and Accounting, PhD in Economics.

Participants first visited the Tourist Information Center operating in the settlement. Local guides informed the students about the Balakhany settlement and activities of TIC. During the visit, each student voiced the topic assigned to him about the Balakhani settlement. The topics covered the history of the settlement, its culture, local cuisine, the development of the oil industry, the Baha'i Faith that existed here, the life and activities of the satirical poet Mirza Alakbar Sabir, who once worked in the school of the settlement, and well-known philanthropists.

During the visit, Gahraman Yusupov told the students about the repair and restoration work in the Balakhany settlement, as well as about the medieval water pool and bath located here.
