A webinar on “People’s Voice... we are no longer refugees” was held

The next victory webinar was organised by the Department Of Foreign Languages at Azerbaijan University.

The guest of the webinar on “People’s Voice.... we are no longer refugees” was the editor of qafqazinfo.az website ,journalist Emin Safarov.The event was moderated by Samira Mammadova,Head of the Department of Foreign Languages.

In his speech ,Emin Safarov said that he and his family became IDPs at the age of 5 after the occupation of Agdam during the first Karabakh war, when Azerbaijan was facing a major refugee and IDP crisis.In 1998 ,he lived in a tent camp.Recalling the hardships and deprivations faced by the refugees and IDPs living in tent camps, the jornalist said that with the victory of the war for

liberation of the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, with the restoration of the territorial integrity of our country, about one million people’s IDPs lives became to end, they had the opportunity to return to their native lands.Emin Safarov said that he has been carrying IDPs as a heavy burden on his shoulders for years, Azerbaijan people uniting like a fist around the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev,the great victory achieved at the cost of the Azerbaijan soldier’s blood and life saved him from this heavy burden as well as hundreds of Azerbaijan citizens.Emin Safarov ,who worked in hotsports during the 44 –day war, spoke about the mood of the civilians living on the front lines and on the sidelines, and their attitude towards journalists.He shared his feelings with the participants of the event, while covering the terrorist acts committed against the civilians.The journalist noted that it is impossible to express in words the feelings of pride he felt when he pushed his foot on the liberated lands and saw the waving tricolor flag, and we owe a great victory, first of all , to our martyrs and their families.May God have mercy on all the martyrs.

The webinar continued in the format of mutual discussion with the participants.

The event also featured speeches by master’s students in linguistics Nigar Rahimova and Sevil Orucova on “Karabagh is Azerbaijan’.
